Fr. Thomas Eisweirth

Fr. Thomas Eisweirth was ordained a priest in 1974 by Bishop James Malone. He celebrated 40 years as a priest during the summer of 2014 here at Blessed Sacrament Parish. Bishop George Murry S.J. appointed Fr. Eisweirth as pastor of this parish in September 2010. He has served in parishes in Trumbull, Portage, Columbiana and Mahoning Counties. He also served as the Priest Personnel Advisor under the direction of two bishops. He grew up at St. Mary Parish in Conneaut, Ohio in Ashtabula County. E-mail Fr. Eisweirth.

 

Fr. McCarthy

Fr. Thomas McCarthy retired from his service to the Diocese of Youngstown in November 2010. He continues to serve the Blessed Sacrament Parish community with his work on the Evangelization Commission, and also provides knowledge and wisdom to those in the RCIA program. He assists Fr. Eisweirth as celebrant at Masses when he is not enjoying retirement in other cities, states, countries. He makes his home with Fr. Eisweirth at the parish rectory. E-mail Fr. McCarthy.

Deacon Robert Green

Deacon Bob was ordained a permanent deacon in September 2013 by Bishop Murry at St. Columba Cathedral. He has chosen the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) process in the parish as his primary ministry. Over the years he has enjoyed being a member of the RCIA team, and working with individuals who have the desire to become closer to God by converting to Catholicism. In addition to RCIA, he also serves on the Worship and Spiritual Growth Commission, as a Marriage Preparation Couple with his wife, and as an adult formation teacher through the Sunday morning ”Donuts with Deacon Bob” sessions. He is a native of Bethlehem, PA. Deacon Bob is a graduate of Villanova University. He works as a CPA, currently employed by RTI International Metals, Inc. as a manager in the IT department. He and his wife Sandra are proud parents of four children and four grandchildren. E-mail Robert.

Joanne
Joanne is our Business Manager. She oversees parish campaigns and pledges, parish fundraising activities, and provides reports to the Diocese of Youngstown. She is responsible for financial and payroll records, bill payment, bank transactions, budgets, year-end, and quarterly reports. She oversees facilities use and maintenance, in addition to the efforts of our Environment and Landscaping & Grounds Committees. Joanne is on the Administration Commission and Charity Fund Committees. Her ministries include Eucharistic Minister and co-chairperson of the Casino Night & Texas Hold’ Em. E-mail Joanne.

Pat
Pat is our Director of Worship and Music. She oversees the planning for all liturgies, as well as the formation of Liturgical Ministers. She coordinates Scripture study, and communal and seasonal prayers of the parish. She serves as liaison to the Worship & Spiritual Growth Commission. Pat is our choir director who shares her musical talents on various instruments, and also provides music for weddings and funerals. She is a Certified Director of Music Ministries (CDMM). Paula
Paula is our Communications Director; she prepares the weekly bulletin and quarterly newsletter, and maintains the parish website. She oversees several outreach activities including the Relay for Life Team events, and the American Heart Association HeartWalk Team events. She provides daily office support, and serves as secretary to the Parish Pastoral Council. She coordinates monthly social activities for the 55 & Over group. Brenda
Brenda is our Director of Religious Education. She leads the Faith Formation program, First Eucharist and Reconciliation Preparation programs, and assists with the RCIA program. She oversees a variety of educational programs at the parish, and also coordinates and supports the Nursing Home and Homebound Ministries. As DRE, she oversees the Treasured Gifts from God Child Protection Policies as required by the Diocese of Youngstown. She has become involved with the Northeast Ohio Coalition on Rescue & Restore (NEOCORR), a grassroots effort to abolish human trafficking. Brenda converted to Catholicism and joined Blessed Sacrament Parish over thirty years ago. Prior to her parish work, Brenda taught in both public and Catholic schools for twenty years. She completed her Masters Degree in Religion with the Loyola Extension Program (LIMEX) in New Orleans. Her parish ministries include Eucharistic Minister and lector. E-mail Brenda.

Brooke

Brooke is our Coordinator for Youth and Young Adult Minister who guides young students on their faith journeys through instruction and service projects, one of which is an annual summer mission trip for high school-aged students. She works with other Warren youth ministers to coordinate programs uniting Warren Area Catholic teens. She oversees the Confirmation Preparation program, and also helps with Vacation Bible School. She is involved with our Annual Community Outreach Day, a day of service in the fall where parishioners help fellow parishioners to meet specific needs in their homes. Brooke is liaison to the Stewardship and Evangelization Commissions. She assists the children at JFK Lower Campus for their Tuesday daily masses and she assists the Howland High School seniors with their Baccalaureate committee. For young adults, she is on the core team for The Mahoning County Theology on Tap group and she is part of the Young Adult Collaborative group for the Diocese of Youngstown.
